Redevelopment on track: This term, we’ve seen some significant changes within the College. We have witnessed the demolition of the old technology block, or C wing, and the shed on the basketball courts. This has been a major step forward in preparing the College for our exciting redevelopment. We will be receiving two new science portables at the beginning of Term 4 and we’re currently waiting for the our building plans to be signed off.

Peer Review a success: On August 5, we completed the final of two days of Peer Review, which looked at achievements over the past four years, and is designed to help us shape our next Strategic Plan. I would like to take the opportunity to thank our reviewer Carolyn Woodhouse from Monash University, Michael Grogan, School Council President, Trevor Smith (Principal, Princes Hill Secondary College) and Ian Wallis (VASSP representative). This process is important for the school and staff to participate in and we thank them for their time and input.

Eyes on the Future: The Year 10 students recently took part in our Futures Expo to gain an understanding of possible university opportunities after school. We had a wide range of universities represented including RMIT, LaTrobe, Victoria University, Polytechnic and ACU. Parents and students were given some insight into what VCE will be like for their child and how they can be best supported during this important time. A huge thank you to the Year 12 students who organised and passed on their study tips and organisational skills in preparation for the Year 10s to prepare for VCE. A large number of them found the presentations and workshop extremely helpful. Year 10 and 11 students have been meeting with Mr. Hernandez and other staff members to decide on their courses for 2017. This was an important process for the students to ensure they are selecting the correct subjects to achieve their optimum ATAR score to enter a specific university, TAFE or training course. We recently conducted parent-teacher interviews and would like to thank all of the parents who attended. These meetings are crucial in gaining an understanding of how your child is progressing and an opportunity to meet our new teachers.
