Year 12 student and College captain Nathan Thorneycroft was last week presented with the 2017 Pierre De Coubertin Award at a ceremony held at the MCG.
Nathan received the award from two Olympic goal medallists – Nicole Livingstone OAM and Catherine Skinner OAM.
The prestigious award, named after the founder of the Modern Olympic Games, is an initiative of the Victorian Olympic Council and recognises students that demonstrate attributes consistent with the aims of the Olympic movement with an emphasis on participation and commendable sporting behaviour.
Nathan is a very worthy recipient as he always demonstrates leadership and sportsmanship both as a student at school and coach/umpire for younger players.
Next year Nathan plans to try out as a VFL Umpire.
The College is extremely proud of Nathan and we congratulate him in receiving this award.
