VCE & VCAL

In Years 11 and 12, the focus is on helping students develop the skills they will need for tertiary education and the workforce. Students will work with teachers and parents to select a VCE, VET or VCAL program that best suits their skills, talents and interests.

Students may:

  • Undertake a Year 12 subject in Year 11;
  • Undertake a Year 11 subject in Year 10;
  • Complete a VCE course in a standard two-year time frame;
  • Plan for a 3-year VCE due to part-time work or sporting commitments;
  • Combine VCE with VET programs;
  • Study a VCE subject as part of their VCAL program;
  • Study a VCE subject as part of a School Based Apprenticeship.

Units offered at Year 11

  • Arts/Humanities: Accounting, Business Management, English/ EAL, Geography Health & Human Development, 20th Century History, Legal Studies, Literature, Media, Outdoor and Environmental Studies, Physical Education, Studio Art, Visual Communication & Design.
  • Mathematics, Science and Technology: Biology, Chemistry, Design & Technology (Food, Textiles), Information Technology, Mathematics (General Mathematics, Mathematical Method, Further Mathematics (3 & 4), Physics, Psychology.

Units offered at Year 12

  • Arts/Humanities: Accounting, Business Management, English/EAL, History: Revolutions, Legal Studies, Literature, Media, Physical Education, Studio Art, Visual Communication & Design.
  • Mathematics, Science and Technology: Biology, Chemistry, Design & Technology (Food), Information Technology (IT Applications), Mathematics (Mathematical methods, Further Mathematics, Specialist Mathematics), Physics, Psychology.
