At William Ruthven Secondary College we believe the purpose of education is to prepare our students for success. We equip students with the skills they need to understand the world, manage their futures and to always act with kindness, purpose and a global view.
Leadership
Our students are active members of the school and wider community. Students can nominate for Student Leader roles at the beginning of each year and are given the opportunity to develop their public speaking, leadership and teamwork skills, develop their academic CV and have lots of fun.
Student leaders from every year level aim to represent the views and interests of all students. These leaders demonstrate the school values of LEARN: Leadership, Excellence, Acceptance, and Respect Now @ WRSC. Student representatives attend meetings of school committees such as the School Council so that student opinions and concerns have a platform.
Our students have strong ethics and social values and, as part of our curriculum, regularly raise funds for local and international charities.
Compass
Compass provides students with a wide range of information and is a quick and easy way to see what’s coming up including classes, tasks and excursions.
The Compass portal gives students access to:
- Assessment grades and written feedback from teachers outlining areas for improvement and tips on how to progress;
- Learning activity progress reports for each subject;
- Semester reports that show completed assessment tasks;
- Information regarding upcoming college events and news.
