digital art

While most people associate computers with practical tasks, there are infinite opportunities for students to use digital software creatively.
The Digital Art class has used Adobe illustrator software to create portraits in the Andy Warhol Pop Art style.
They began by taking their own digital portrait. They selected an illustrator feature that tracks the 6 key colours in the image.
Selection of a palette/ swatch of the colours was next and students allocated a palette colour to each of the 6 colour areas.
A period of trial and error followed as students trialled different colour combinations and placements.
While during the planning stage of this work no-one wanted their work to be displayed, once students could see the amazing results they were achieving, everyone was happy for their portrait to appear in the college showcase.
